How to help my child learn

Are you a parent of young kids and want to help them learn and grow in the best way possible? Here are the basic tips on how you can do that:

  1. Share your free time with your child as much as you can.
  2. Be a great role model. Children learn by watching the adults in their lives, so be a good example. Share your goals, dreams and achievements with them and show that learning is important and useful for you.
  3. Take an interest in your child's activities and show it. It's not just about checking their homework, it's about being open to new ideas, as well as being curious, having conversations about what they've learned, what their challenges and successes are.
  4. Know your child’s interests and create a suitable learning environment at home. Make learning fun.
  5. Support your child to be independent and initiative. Do not solve the problems for them, but guide them towards solutions. Ask open-ended questions that encourage children to think, analyse and create.
  6.  Recognise and cheer your child’s achievements. Express pride and respect to their work and progress, even small ones. Avoid unrealistic expectations and criticism. Do not compare your child to others.
  7. Enrich your child’s learning with numerous extracurricular activities. Discover new areas of knowledge and interests together through games, hobbies, sports, excursions. Support their talents.
  8. Maintain permanent and positive communication with your child’s teachers and trainers. Work together for the good of the child.
